You Just Got Pitch Slapped

OH. MY. GOSH.

OK - so I know that yesterday I said that Troy was the best movie ever, but I take that back. Pitch Perfect is. I mean, that movie is amazing. I literally just got home from the movie theater and it is taking everything I have not to turn back around and go see it again. Really. I'm not kidding. It was so good.

The movie is about an acapella group who is trying to make it to nationals, after having a horrible performance the previous year. I know what y'all are thinking right now... "That seems a lot like the show Glee." Well... It is, but it's way more awesome.

Don't get me wrong, I love Glee. But Glee has NOTHING on Pitch Perfect.

This movie was just one of those feel-good movies. There really isn't anything negative about it, and I love that it was set in a college environment instead of the cliche high school one that most movies seem to rely on.

And for those of you that aren't big on the whole "glee" thing, the movie isn't just about singing, it has other storylines too. Of course, it has a somewhat gooey romance, but it's super cute. Plus, one of the main characters is a MAJOR movie buff, which of course is super awesome, because obviously I am too, and he was so adorable, I loved his character.

Even if you don't like any of what I've said so far, there is one last reason you should go see this movie: FAT AMY. Many of you will recognize Fat Amy. She is played by the actress who plays Brynn in Bridesmaids (The Fat British one with the Drinking Worm tattoo) and of course she makes the movie so funny, there is never a dull moment. We laughed the entire movie, mostly because of Fat Amy.

Other notable faces you may recognize include: Anna Kendrick (Jessica from Twilight), Brittany Snow (Prom Night, The Pacifier, John Tucker Must Die, Hairspray - all amazing movies that you should watch), and Elizabeth Banks (Effie Trinkett from The Hunger Games!!!).

Honestly, words cannot express how much I loved this movie. It had a really great classic storyline (and by that I mean slightly cheesy, enticing, and hilarious), a really awesome soundtrack (like really really really awesome, I'm buying it as we speak), and a really awesome cast (aside from those that I already mentioned of course).

I will probably be laughing maniacally to myself for the next week or so as I remember various lines from the movie. In fact, I just started laughing as I remember one particular Bridesmaids-esque scene. *Hint-It envolves a rather unfortunate bodily function*

OH. FUN FACT!!!!! This movie was filmed on LSU's campus! Now speaking as an Aggie - SSSSSSSSSSSSSS. But speaking as a non-ag, THAT IS SO COOL.

So anyways... Go see it, and I hope all y'all have the same opinion as me!

Laytaaaaaa.

Where has this movie been all of my life?

OK - Seriously guys. Where has this movie been all of my life?
I just watched Troy. I'm sure you've heard of it.

If you haven't... Go flush your head down a toilet.

And if you've heard of it, but never seen it. Go watch it. NOW.

It's only 3 hours long, so no biggie. But don't read this post until you've seen it. Because this post is worth waiting for. That movie... you need to go watch now. Don't wait any longer.

That is seriously one of the best movies I've EVER seen.

The best part is that this movie has a little something for everyone in it. It's got a lot of action, a nice romantic storyline to it, and a ton of drama. Even a little bit of comedy in there.

This is the perfect date night movie too. Wanna know why? Simple: Guys - this movie is about war. Blood, guts, fighting, macho-ness, you got it. Girls - this movie is about war. Muscles, eye candy, hot guys fighting, hot guys sweating, hot guys, yum.

So seriously...

Still want to know more about this EPIC movie. (Do you see what I did there??)
Troy is based off of the EPIC by Homer called The Illiad. Basically... This guy named Achilles is this wonderful warrior and leads Greece in a war against the Trojans because the Prince Paris, from Troy, stole Helen who was the wife of the king of Sparta. Bam. There's the movie for ya.

But seriously. Watch it. This movie is absolutely amazing in all restrospects (Not just the fact that there are hott guys, I actually really enjoyed the storyline and film itself). If it wasn't three hours long I'd probably watch it again tonight.

Still not conviced? Here are some more reasons you should watch this movie right now...
Guys - Diane Kruger, Siri Svegler, Saffron Burrows, and Rose Burn (yes she plays Helen in Bridesmaids.
Ladies - Eric Bana (HOLY MOLEY SMOKIN' HOT), Brad Pitt (This is the only movie I find him attractive in, and let's just say, that's an understatement), Orlando Bloom ('Nuff Said), and Sean Bean. Not to mention all of the other ripped, half-clothed warriors fighting. (;

I think that pretty much sums it all up. Enjoy. (:

Words Words Words

Who here thinks that Bradley Cooper is mega-sexy?
That's right, everybody... So everyone needs to go see his newest movie, The Words.

The Words is kind of like inception, except it's about an author (played by Dennis Quaid) who is reading his newest novel, The Words, to a group of people. As he reads his story, we get to see it played out on screen. Its the story of a young couple (portrayed by Bradley Cooper, yum, and Zoe Saldena, from Avatar) living in New York. Bradley Cooper's character, Rory, is an aspiring author who just can't seem to make it in the publishing world. Then one day, he stumbles across a story written Post-WWII in Paris. Before he knows it, Rory submits the story as his own and it becomes a mega-hit. Enter The Old Man (whose name we never find out). This old man then tells Rory his story, which is also played out on-screen. Are you starting to get the whole inception concept?!

Anyways, I don't want to give out too much more because I don't want to spoil the movie for you, but I strongly recommend that you go see it!!!!!!! I highly enjoyed this movie, plus it really makes you think.

Also, Perks of Being a Wallflower comes out Thursday night, which has Emma Watson in it!!!! GET EXCITED. I am!!

That's all for today folks!
Lataaaa.

A Little Late, But Here It Is!

OK, so before I get started, I'm going to let you know that my opinion on this next movie tends to stray from the normal opinions. Everyone I know loves this movie, except for me...

The movie is Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?
The movie is a "parody" of The Odyssey, but not quite a parody, because they aren't really making fun of it... But the movie is based on The Odyssey, even though the people who wrote the movie had never actually read the book. It's complicated...

Anyways, it has a rockstar cast including George Clooney, that weird guy from Holes, John Goodman, a couple of other recognizable faces, and only one black guy. Great, huh? P.S. I love love love George Clooney, he is gorgeous for an old guy.

So basically, these three fugitives break out of prison (thus the fugitives) on the quest for a treasure that Clooney's character buried a while back. On the way they face "constant sorrows" while trying to evade the police/sheriff or whatever it was called in the south during the late 1930s. Then there is a bit with the cyclops, a bank robber, even the KKK, but really Clooney's character was lying the whole time, there was no treasure, he just wanted to stop his wife from getting married to someone new.

And the three fugitives and their black friend become superstars as The Soggy Bottom Boys!!!!

I honestly don't like this movie because it is so bizarre and weird, but I LOVE THE SOUNDTRACK. The music in this movie is the best hands down, so if anything watch the movie for the music, and maybe you'll wind up liking the movie too. It's actually starting to grow on me a bit...

Well that's really all for now, sorry this isn't the best review... Hopefully I'll have a new one soon!!!

Love y'all!
