Gettin' In That Holiday Spirit

Ok, I am pleased to say I have found the good Christmas Movies that are actually worth watching on Netflix. I've also watched a few not so good ones too, but get excited for the good ones. To make this a little more fun for both you and me, I will progressively build up to the ones that are AMAZING by starting with the sucky ones.

1. Holiday Favorites: Volume 2 (1 Star)
This is some more of those creepy animations from the 50s. I don't understand why they had to draw the creepiest looking kids back then. And the stories are kind of morbid for a children's movie. Like hating your toys and all kinds of nonsense.

2. Holiday Favorites: Volume 5 (1 Star)
This collection is only slightly better than the previous because it consisted mainly of black and white "music videos" of choirs singing classic Christmas Songs/Hymns. That part I liked and sang along too. But another part of it was creepy stories again like The Little Match Girl, a Hans Christian Anderson classic.

3. A Perfect Day (2 1/2 Stars)
Now we're getting into the slightly better movies. This was also a full-length movie! Yahoooo. It's about a man who becomes a very successful author in a short span of time and loses sight of who he really is. It takes outside help, but he finally realizes how far he has strayed from who he is. The only reason it's considered a Christmas movie though, is because it takes place around Christmas time. Still, it has a good moral.

4. Kung Fu Panda: Holiday (3 Stars)
I'm not particularly a huge fan of Kung Fu Panda, but this short animation wasn't too bad. The Panda is supposed to put on this huge dinner for the Kung Fu Masters and gets so caught up in the dinner that he forgets how important it is to spend the holiday with his dad. It wound up being a pretty cute story, that emphasized the importance of family around the holidays.

5. Snow (4 Stars)
6. Snow 2: Brain Freeze (4 Stars)
Alright I'm putting these two movies together because Snow 2 is obviously a sequel to Snow. In Snow, Nick Snowden, who is Santa, must save his reindeer from this evil guy and winds up falling in love with Sandy. They get married blah blah blah and here comes Snow 2! Now Sandy is pregnant, but unable to tell Nick because he falls through his magical portal and forgets who he is, so Sandy must help him discover it without ruining the magic of Christmas. Both movies are ABC Family originals, so of course super cute. Only weird thing is Sandy is played by the same actress that plays Victoria in How I Met Your Mother, so I keep picturing her as Victoria, not Sandy...

7. Dreamworks Holiday Classics (4 1/2 Stars)
SOOOOO FUNNNNNYYYYY. Please go watch this right now. It's four Holiday shorts. One is with Madagascar characters, (and that one was my absolute favorite. Me and my sister have been quoting it for days.) one with just the Madagascar Penguins (another great one), one with Shrek (funny, but kind of weird), and one with How To Train Your Dragon (which was also super cute). All four of them combined are about as long as a regular movie, and they are definitely worth your time. I laughed so hard while watching these and they are cute cartoons. What can I say, I'm a sucker for little kid movies.

Finally, one last movie that you all need to see that is NOT on Netflix, but IS in THEATERS.
The Rise of The Guardians (4 Stars)
In this movie, The Guardian:, Jack Frost, Santa Claus, The Tooth Fairy, SandMan, and The Easter Bunny, must work together to stop The Boogyman from diminishing all hope and wonder in the children all over the world. As my sister describes it "TROTG is like The Avengers, but with historical characters." In a way, I can see where she is coming from. I originally thought that this movie was a Christmas movie, based on the commercials, but its actually set in March or April, but its not! Everyone should see it anyways. I was definitely pleasantly surprised by this movie, considering I wasn't planning on seeing it at all,

That's all I have for now! I'm still trying to watch all the Christmas Movies on Netflix, but I keep finding more and more so I'm not sure if ill be able to watch them all! I'll certainly try my hardest though!
